The Bin Jelmood house in Doha is the first museum to focus on slavery in the Arab world.

The Fire Station Artist in Residence sits at the heart of Doha’s flourishing art community. It provides the perfect springboard for creativity, helping people take their passion to the next level. The Fire Station offers nine-month programmes for artists who are resident in Qatar. During this time, they move into one of the studios, collaborate with fellow creatives and develop their own technique. They meet curators, can access all exhibitions and are encouraged to join lectures.

Holding over 9,000 works, Mathaf is the world’s largest specialised collection of its kind. It organises major exhibitions, both historical and experimental, and large-scale education programs performing an important role as a centre for dialogue, research, and a resource for fostering creativity. Mathaf also hosts solo and group exhibitions by artists from the region, and events that explore and celebrate modern and contemporary art.

The world-renowned Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) represents Islamic art from three continents over 1,400 years. The iconic building was designed by architect I. M. Pei. The museum houses a collection of works gathered since the late 1980s, including manuscripts, textiles and ceramics. It is one of the world’s most complete collections of Islamic artifacts, with items originating in Spain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, India, and Central Asia

Qatar's Orientalist Museum is the only institution of its kind. It is dedicated to Orientalism - an influential period in art history, based around Western artists’ first experiences and impressions of the 'oriental' East.

The museum is designed to educate and entertain, delivering state-of-the-art sport from around the world. From oral histories of the roots of Qatari sport, to the thrill of Formula One, the museum collects, displays and celebrates it aII whilst demonstrating to the world that sport and Qatar are intrinsically linked.
