Library advice on finding online resources

Here are some suggestions on doing your research online:

GUQ Library Online Resources

When you use HoyaSearch make sure you have selected the "Available Online" filter to check online materials only that include books, book chapters, scholarly articles, videos, etc.

Qatar National Library Online Resources

If you have a Qatar National Library (QNL) card, you can access their online resources:

If you do not have a Qatar National Library card, contact QNL or sign up for a membership card here.

 

Google Scholar

Remember to access Google Scholar from the Library's homepage tab. This way you will be able to access the full text of the sources that the GU-Q Library subscribes to:
​Google Scholar has many advanced features to improve your search results like advanced search where you can combine keywords, search only in the title, search by author and limit to specific dates. Book an appointment with us online to go through all the features of Google Scholar.
 

Verify Online Resources' Credibility

Be careful with the sources you find on the Internet. Make sure you use authoritative, credible sources. Take the CRAAP test to quickly assess a resource you found on the internet. Contact us if you have questions about your sources.
