How to Use Reference Sources

At the beginning stages of your assignment you will need some additional background information on your subject.
During the middle stages of your project you might need to find the definition of a term you are unfamiliar with, or explore related topics.

Reference sources like subject dictionaries, topic encyclopedias and reference databases can help you to:

Clarify new terms.
Find background information on your subject(s).
Create a list of related terms to expand or focus your research (mind mapping).
Point you to additional resources.
