Sample Research and Omeka Workflow

1. Selecting a Topic and Research
   • Choose a topic - example: African immigrant women and identity through their memoirs.
   • Research the topic - use reference resources: Africa Diaspora - Credo, Diaspora and Colonialism - Credo, and Diaspora - Oxford African-American Studies Center.
   • Look for books or articles on the topic - use Google Scholar to explore books and articles for African Diaspora.
2. Develop a Structured Outline & Explore Multimedia Content
   • Historical Foundations - Black Studies Center and African Diaspora, 1860-Present
3. Login to the Commons Blog website for ANTH 354
   • Create a new Page for your E-Portfolio
   • Add text, images, audio files, and/or video (via YouTube or file)
4. Finalize your project
   • Edit content as needed
   • Add citations and bibliography section
