Finding Books

When browsing the library catalog, it is a good idea to try out different word combinations, i.e. keywords, phrases or subject keywords. Here are helpful tips to search the library catalog.

Keyword Search - use when getting started and you only have broad concepts or terms.

(Ex. US Foreign Policy)

Author or Title Search - use when you know the author or title of a book

(Ex. The War on Terror in comparative perspectives : US security and foreign policy after 9/11)

Subject Search - use to find very specific results based on the subject words.

(Ex. National security -- United States -- Decision making)
