Where to Record?

  • Location:
    • LD04 and LD07 which are part of the Innovation Lab (located at the Basement).
    • Sound-treated rooms with professional equipment.
  • Booking: Reserve through the Library booking system. Ask at the Help Desk or the Innovation Lab located on the 2nd floor, if unsure.
  • Setup in Room:
    • RØDECaster Pro II console.
    • 4 professional microphones + headphones.
    • Easy “plug and record” interface.

Recording with RØDECaster Pro II

Quick Start Guide

  1. Power on the unit.
  2. Connect microphones and headphones.
  3. Adjust mic levels on the touchscreen.
  4. Do a short test recording.
  5. Press Record (red button).
  6. Save recording to microSD card or transfer to computer.

Bonus: Use sound pads for intro music or effects.

Editing You Podcast

Editing Your Podcast

  • Software options:
    1. Audacity (free, simple editing)
    2. Adobe Audition (advanced, available through Creative Cloud)
    3. GarageBand (for Mac users)
       
  • Basic workflow:
    1. Import recording.
    2. Cut mistakes or long pauses.
    3. Balance audio levels.
    4. Add intro/outro music.
    5. Export as .mp3.

Music, Sound Effects & Copyright

  • Use only royalty-free or Creative Commons licensed music.
  • Recommended sources: Free Music Archive, Pixabay, YouTube Audio Library.
  • Always give credit if the license requires it.
  • Avoid copyrighted music (unless you have permission).

Publishing & Sharing

  • Share with your class, student group, or public audience.
  • Platforms: Spotify (via Anchor), Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud.
  • Always include:
    • Podcast title
    • Short description
    • Cover art (if necessary)
